KHS Theatre Acting and Musical Theatre Clinic

DATE: Saturday, April 5th

TIMES: 9:00am – 3:00pm and a performance at one of the KHS Varsity Theatre Musical Revue shows (May 8th – 10th)

COST: $65

GRADES:1st-8th

 

We are so excited to offer a spring musical theatre clinic this year at Kingwood High School for young performers!  This one-day acting, dancing and vocal clinic with the KHS Theatre Directors and students will culminate in a performance number featuring a hit musical song at the KHS Varsity Theatre Musical Revue!  Grades will be separated into two to four groups and each group will perform their number at one of the show performances. 

*Students will be taking classes in acting, voice, dance, and auditions, all tailored to their age group.  Students will be working on skills to help them gain confidence in performing in front of others and develop a love of theatre!  

 

DAILY SCHEDULE:

8:45am: Dropoff

9:00-11:30am: Show Rehearsals

11:30am-12:00pm: Lunch

12:00-3:00pm: Classes

 

DROP OFF: 

On the morning of the clinic, parents will be required to sign their student in.  

 

FOOD:

Students should pack a lunch for the clinic.  Light snacks will be provided, and students can also bring money to purchase treats from our concession stand.  Please make sure to indicate any allergies or food restrictions on your registration form.

 

WHAT TO BRING TO THE CLINIC:

  • Notebook and pen for notes (grades 4-8)
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Packed lunch
  • Attire you can dance in with warm-ups over 
  • Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes 
  • Hair ties to keep hair back

 

TSHIRT

All participants will receive a KHS Varsity Theatre Musical Revue shirt as a souvenir from the clinic and their performance in the show!  You will pick your child’s t-shirt size on the registration form.

 

FINAL PERFORMANCE

All participants will have the opportunity to perform the number they learn during the clinic at one of the KHS Varsity Theatre Musical Revue.  They will perform at 7:00pm on Thursday (May 8th) or Friday (May 9th) or either 2:00pm or 7:00pm on Saturday (May 10th).  Performance groups and dates / times will be announced at the clinic.   Information about purchasing tickets to the show will be announced at the clinic.

*This one-day clinic is specifically for performers and does not include technical theatre classes.  Tech classes will be taught during the KHS Theatre Summer Camp in June.  Stay tuned for more information about the KHS Theatre 2025 Summer Camp!
